    • The Livtopia Story…

    Livtopia was founded by Mr. Samer Salameh in 2005. Samer had been the CEO of Prodigy Communications, a public company, sold to SBC Communications (now AT & T) for over $2 Billion, as well as for Rstar, Raysat, and several other highly successful US companies. Samer spent over 10 years in Mexico as an expatriate, married a Mexican woman with whom he has 2 beautiful daughters, and went back to Mexico in 2005 to retire.

    The idea of Livtopia was born when Samer realized he was spending countless hours showing American friends and family members how they too could move to, vacation, or retire abroad. People had noticed that they were able to enjoy a higher quality of life and that their dollars went much further in Mexico, Panama, Dominican Republic or Costa Rica than they did in the US. Facing a deluge of requests for help, Samer also realized that non-Spanish speakers faced numerous obstacles in their efforts to relocate outside the US, not the least of which was deciding where to retire, and then finding good housing once they found the ideal location. A move also involved dealing with how to relocate household items across international borders, as well as dealing with the many minor issues involved in moving to a new place, but magnified by the differences in language and cultural barriers. Finally, Samer decided to transform the blog he had started to help his friends into a full-fledged network of websites, Livtopia, as a way to help all the people who were looking to improve their quality of life. Today the network includes, Livtopia-Panama, Livtopia-Mexico, Livtopia-Costa-Rica and the Dominican Republic. Livtopia’s MexRetire.com is dedicated to providing all of the information and services requested by those considering retiring to Mexico.
